Hi, I'm Shel,
the founder of Studio Härmonē
Creating Studio Härmonē came from a desire for more joy and fulfillment. I worked as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer for years along side a career in project management, business analysis and corporate consulting. My clients were all with mission-driven organizations which added meaning and inspiration to the work.
I have been an artist, in one form or another, for as long as I can remember. Creating, crafting and designing are food for my soul. To do so in the service of a mission adds a deeper layer of fulfillment and purpose.
As a woman with decades of business experience, I decided it was time to blend my two careers. I founded this design firm to create a space of harmony, blending artistry, inclusivity, and sophistication. My goal is to have a team of like minded individuals crafting meaningful visual design to help our mission-focused clients grow and amplify their impact.

Our Purpose
Making the world a better place by collaborating with mission-centred organizations to amplify their impact through visual storytelling, driven by the joy and fulfillment found in discovery and creative expression.
Our Mission

Our Vision
Building a financially sustainable, socially impactful design firm where purpose and profit work together, empowering changemakers to show up with confidence, clarity, and creativity.
Testimonials
Intentional Proces
"I'm so grateful for Shelley's creative mind. She has such a natural gift for creating not only functional, but beautiful websites and branding. She asks the best questions during the pre-design process; the ones that really make you think. The result is a logo and website that I'm proud to call mine."

“Working with Shel was a fantastic experience. Her professional and engaging creative process helped the team translate complex ideas into compelling visual representations. She was accommodating with timelines and mindful of our budget, ensuring we could achieve high-quality design without compromise. Most importantly, she deeply understood the sensitivity and value of the often underrecognized yet critical work of the our sector. Her thoughtful approach made all the difference, and I couldn’t be more grateful for her expertise.”

Meaningful Identity
"Working with Shel on our logo for the Sahas Community Services, a culturally safe helpline, was an incredible experience. She took the time to truly understand our mission of fostering connection and support across diverse communities. The final design beautifully reflects the inclusivity, warmth, and cultural richness that our helpline stands for. Their creativity, attention to detail, and responsiveness made the entire process smooth and inspiring, even when we had to go back forth few times. We couldn’t be happier with the result—it’s more than just a logo; it’s a symbol of the work we do. Thank you, Shelley, for bringing our vision to life!"

Strategic Collaboration
“The work Shel did on the annual report for the Aboriginal Mother Centre was truly more than I ever expected. Shel helped me through one of the hardest times of being in a leadership position. During COVID she would meet with me over zoom and found ways to incorporate what I was trying to convey into an absolutely outstanding report that showcased the work we were doing during one of the hardest times. Shelley not only helped create the report, she helped me feel like I had someone that understood the pressure I was under working on the frontlines and ensuring safety of others. Shel gave me tools, provided coaching and created an outstanding design. I am so grateful she walked alongside me. I felt seen, heard and valued. Because of this I didn't feel so alone as a leader during the pandemic”

Confidence & Clarity
"Shelley Schroeder supported me to become successful in starting my own business by creating my website. It was everything I could have ever dreamed of. Everything on my website is so authentic to who I am and what I have to offer. Shelley met with me several times to come up with the design and was supportive, encouraging and absolutely gifted and knowledgeable with her creativity and final product. It has helped me immensely to connect with potential clients and she has continued to guide me and keep my website updated and secure ever since."

Cultural Safety & Respect
"As the Executive Director of the Aboriginal Mother Centre I contracted Shel to update our website as it was out of date. Shel was professional, understanding that it was an Indigenous organization that served Indigenous families. She provided cultural safety throughout the process, honoured Indigenous culture in the design without appropriating any Indigenous artistic style. She found a way to show comfort and safety for the Mothers that may visit the site. Shel showcased her gifts and did an absolutely outstanding job."

Let’s say I am so charmed by the radiance
of my own anarchy, I invite myself in
for tea, and when I’m not looking, I sneak
the steam from the kettle into my pocket
so the next time I’m missing the coast of Maine
I can gift myself the fog.

What is neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity refers to the full spectrum of natural neurological differences in how people think, learn, and experience the world.
These differences are not deficits to be fixed, but variations to be respected and understood.
"Neurodiversity may be every bit as crucial for the human race as biodiversity is for life in general."
- Judy Singer, NeuroDiversity: The Birth of an Idea
Neurodivergence can include:
-
Autism
-
ADHD
-
Dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia
-
Tourette's
-
OCD
Neurodiversity has become a social and political movement: a call for civil rights, acceptance, and equity for people who are neurologically different.
What is 2SLGBTQIA+?
2SLGBTQIA+ is an umbrella term for people whose identities fall outside of traditional gender and sexual norms.
Each letter represents a distinct experience and affirms that love, gender, and self-expression exist on a diverse spectrum. Being part of this community is not just about who someone loves, but how they move through the world with authenticity, resistance, and pride.

At Studio Härmonē, we embrace all ways of thinking, being and knowing. There’s a kind of magic that happens when we are free, safe, and engaged in the creative process. A unique perspective is introduced that finds harmony where others may find dissonance. And, honestly, at least 50% of us are neurodivergent and 2SLGBTQIA+. "Birds of a feather flock together," so they say.

Certified Supplier
We are excited to announce that we became a Certified Supplier through the CQCC Supplier Diversity Program on January 5, 2026.
Supplier diversity refers to the practice of sourcing goods and services from a broad range of businesses, including those owned by people with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, and other underrepresented groups. It helps ensure economic opportunity is shared more equitably.
