Manifesting Hope

At Studio Härmonē, we send a quarterly gift with a theme and message.
Our fall edition was gratitude, marking the official launch of Studio Härmonē with an introductory booklet, a personalized note, and an illustrated sticker featuring a symbol of gratitude alongside the cedar tree. In spring, our focus shifted to renewal, celebrated with a sticker featuring the vibrant Western Tanager, a beautiful bird native to the West Coast. Every season pairs this gift with a message, often crafted as a postcard.
Choosing Hope
This summer, our theme is hope.
Hope (Merriam-Webster) Verb: to cherish a desire with anticipation; to want something to happen or be true. Noun: desire accompanied by expectation of obtaining what is desired or belief that it is obtainable.
When reflecting on the current state of the economy, complex political climate, and the subsequent difficulties many organizations are navigating today, we wanted to offer an infusion of beauty and hope.
For the visual heart of the message, we turned to a digital painting created by Shel in 2024. The piece captures lush peonies, exploring the fullness of the blooms and how light plays with the petals.
We inserted snippets of this painting inside the letterforms of the word HOPE, creating a rich typography filled with the vibrant colour and texture of high summer.
Design is an iterative process. Initially, the concept included a small bumblebee resting on the 'O' in HOPE. But as the texture and colour of the peonies filled the letters, the design asked for simplicity; the bee took away from the message rather than adding to it.
Thriving
Things are challenging across almost every sector right now. Infusing this message, both for ourselves and for those who receive our gifts, is our small way of shifting perspective and delivering a moment of delight directly to your snail mail box.
Here’s to the manifestation of hope, so we can all thrive.
