Squish your toes in the sand

as the water pulls at your heels.

Toes in the sand with the ocean

Breathe in the air of the forest,

damp soil, wood and green things.

The green forest

And then I invite you to wonder.

Do you see our own privilege?

To see our privilege we need to move

our thinking selves out of the way.

We need to ask our ego selves to

step to the side, we need to close

the book of all we know.

Then.

We can open the book that is filled

with space.  We can open the eyes

that live in our heart and the ears

that live in our stomach and close

our mouths and breathe slowly

through our nose.

Slowly.

We can then see. Hear. Feel.

Observe ourselves observing others.

Observe others in new ways.

Be silent and be still and observe.

Witness, humbly.

Absorb the stories into our pores

so they seep into our bones.

Invite the learnings in and

spend time with them.

Allow them to imprint themselves

in our book.

An empty book

Can we feel our privilege?

Can we hold many truths

at the same time?
