This book is a love letter from the author to a farm, horses, lifestyle and time.  The photos and words came from a place of deep gratitude.  The inspiration for the illustration and the drive to get the layout just right came from the beauty of horses and the importance of practicing gratitude.

Challenge:

We had two challenges with this project.  The first was the size.  This book was 4 x 6.  It was challenging to fit the text on the page and yet still be legible.  The second was the quality of the photographs.  The photos provided by the author were taken over years and, as such, were of varying quality.

Wins:

Finding the illustration of the cover was our win for this project.  We went through numerous photos of the author at her farm and with her horses.  In this case we chose a photo also showed the land and the lake.
