A series of line-drawing illustrations and a cohesive cover design for a book centred on equine-assisted healing.

This book is an anthology of stories from equine assisted learning facilitators where they observed how working with horses is profoundly healing for the facilitators and the participants.  The project started with a request to produced "line drawing" illustrations based on photos take during equine assisted learning sessions.  We then moved forward to creating the cover.

Challenge:

On this project our challenge came with creating the background of the cover.  We wanted to spill the image from the front to the back, cross the spine and still maintain a sense of vibrancy and airiness.  We also wanted the spine to catch the attention of patrons in a book store, when lined up amongst other books.

Wins:

The cover illustration came quickly and without struggle.  The subject matter was moving and inspiring thus feeding the creative process.
